Miami Mixologists Serve Up Specialty Cocktails & Recipes

In celebration of National Tequila Day on Thursday, July 24th, cocktail gurus at Miami’s hottest restaurants and bars are offering up their most popular tequila cocktail recipes, for at-home enjoyment.

LIVING ROOM AT W SOUTH BEACH

Paloma Hermosa
Yields 1 cocktail

1.5 oz. Tapatio Blanco tequila
.5 oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
.75 oz. fresh lime
.5 oz. fresh grapefruit
.25 oz. agave
.5 egg white
Lime Wheels, Edible Flower

Directions: Dry shake all ingredients (no ice) in shaker. Pour over ice in rocks glass. Garnish with lime wheels and edible flowers.

MEAT MARKET

Some Like It Hot

Yields 1 cocktail
1.5 oz. Partida Reposado Tequila
.75 oz. Fresh lime juice
.5 oz. Jalapeño infused agave nectar (if no time to infuse the agave, depending on the spice level desired and the jalapeño’s individual heat, muddle before raspberries and use the same amount of regular agave nectar or if need be, cane syrup)
5 Raspberries

Directions:Muddle 5 raspberries. Add tequila, lime juice and agave, according to desired level of heat. Shake double strain and serve up. Garnish with jalapeño wheel on the side of a martini glass.

Passion & Pain

Yields 1 cocktail
1.5 oz. Applewood smoked tequila
1 oz. Passion fruit puree
.5 oz Lemon juice
.5 oz. Giffards Apricot liquor
.5 oz. Agave
3 drops Jalapeño tincture

Directions: Puree passion fruit, combine with Applewood smoked tequila, lemon juice, Giffards apricot liquor, agave and jalapeño tincture. Serve with a passion fruit slice on the glass.

Orange Kissed Tequila Sour
Yields 1 cocktail
2 oz. Revolucion Tequila
Splash Cointreau
Splash Small Batch Tonic
Splash OJ
Splash lemonade
One squeezed lime wedge
Agave Nectar

Directions: Shake Tequila, Cointreau, tonic, OJ, Lemonade and agave nectar. Add a splash of soda water. Garnish with a peeled orange rind singed over cocktail.

Yields 1 cocktail
Jose Cuervo Special
Passion Fruit
Cilantro
Jalapeno
Lime Juice
Dash Sweet and Sour

Directions: Muddle jalapeno, cilantro, sweet and sour and lime juice. Combine with Jose Cuervo Special Silver and passion fruit, shake very well. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a lime wedge.

Peppery Pepino
Yields 1 cocktail
Zignum Reposado Mezcal
Kings Ginger Liqueur
Fresh Red Pepper
Sprinkle Cayenne Pepper
Fresh Lime
Cucumber

Directions: Muddle red pepper, cucumber and lime juice. Add Zignum Reposado, Kings Ginger Liqueur, shake very well and pour over ice. Garnish with cucumber wheel and cayenne pepper.
